The largest passenger and cargo catamaran ship in the world, Betancuria Express has been first drydocked at Astican premises. It was built in 2011 by Austal in Australia and acquired in 2016 by Fred Olsen S.A. that made it the most comfortable ship of those that operate between islands. Betancuria Express is a mixed passenger high-speed ship with 115 meters long, 26.2 meters wide and a maximum draft of 3.9 at the center of the boat. She has capacity for 1,598 passengers and 357 cars or alternatively 121 cars and 450lm of load and can travel at a speed of 38 knots (over 70 km / hour).
