At ASTICAN, we firmly believe that continuous training and development are essential pillars to guarantee the quality, excellence, and competitiveness of our services. These values bring us closer every day to our Vision: “We aim to be global in the repair and conversion of any marine artifact. We aspire to be the company to trust, to grow with, and to want to belong to.”
For this reason, the Human Resources Department has developed an Annual Training Plan, designed to respond to both the needs of the business and those of our people. This plan is based on constant communication with all departments, monitoring technological and regulatory changes, and the professional aspirations of our staff. In this way, we ensure that our employees have the necessary skills to meet the challenges and demands of our industry.
The acquisition of technical knowledge is key: our team participates in training courses on steel and welding, painting, management systems, taxation, among other essential subjects. Additionally, we encourage learning in IT, digital skills, communication, and new technologies. We also place a strong emphasis on developing leadership capabilities and “soft” skills, essential for a collaborative and effective work environment.
In an industrial and port sector like ours, occupational risk prevention is an absolute priority. We ensure that our staff are trained in specific aspects that guarantee not only their safety and that of others, but also compliance with current regulations. This is complemented by training in Legal Compliance and Equality, which strengthens our organizational culture built on responsibility and awareness.
In an increasingly globalised world, language training, especially in English, is another of our strategic focuses. This allows us to provide a quality service to our international clients and strengthening our global projection.
On the other hand, the integration of new team recruits is crucial to ASTICAN’s success. We organise regular welcome sessions that provide a comprehensive overview of our shipyard, our values, and the roles of each department. We also integrate innovative technology, such as a 3D virtual tour, to help new employees familiarise themselves with our facilities in an engaging and efficient way.
At ASTICAN, training is not only a responsibility: it’s an opportunity to grow, innovate, and develop new skills. We foster an environment where every individual can thrive professionally, contributing to the collective success of our organization.
At ASTICAN, we are convinced that investing in training is an investment in the future of our people and our company.
