Once again, we conclude the edition that has recorded the highest number of participants in the history of the project.
In recognition, Inés receives a scholarship of €1,000 to start her education.
As every year, the Canary Talent Association has held its early talent detection competition, Canarias Masterclass, in which 2nd-year high school students from the Canary Islands participate.
To promote the project and encourage students to participate, 47 public and state schools in the islands have been visited. Canarian students outdo themselves year after year in demonstrating their interest, concern, and involvement in their future. The number of students deciding to participate in this initiative also increases every edition, reaching a historical record of over 2,200 registered students in the 2023 edition, distributed throughout the archipelago.
Among the registered participants, 50 students were selected to enjoy a day of immersion in a Canarian company, guided by a mentor, where they could experience firsthand what their future will be like if they choose that profession and thus verify if it is the path they want to pursue.
Once again, thank you for exceeding our expectations and demonstrating the tremendous talent that young Canarians possess. Of course, it is a cause for celebration, and all participants deserve our congratulations, as they have shown concern and interest in their future.
Today, Canarias Masterclass has selected the winner of the financial scholarship in its eighth edition: Inés Ramírez, future student of Industrial Engineering + Business Administration.
Inés shared an incredible workday at Astilleros Canarios (ASTICAN) alongside her mentor, José Luis Henríquez, Director of Procurement. During her immersion day, Inés demonstrated a significant amount of motivation, as well as her eagerness and willingness to learn from all the departments she visited.
José Luis, her mentor, highlights her curiosity and affirms that “if everyone her age has the same proactivity, desire, enthusiasm, and knowledge that she has, the future of the Canary Islands will be promising.”
Inés is a student at Colegio Heidelberg Gran Canaria. She is a curious, ambitious person who has a true passion for innovation and technology. Her constant desire to learn has led her to train in various disciplines such as digital marketing, e-commerce, dropshipping, programming, and international business, among others. Her goal is to contribute to the transformation and progress of the industry in the Canary Islands.
Regarding her hobbies, she enjoys traveling and getting to know new cultures, and she also takes the opportunity to practice the different languages she knows: English, German, and French.
In short, there is no doubt that she possesses a set of skills and attitudes that will allow her to succeed in whatever she sets her mind to.
As for the interests of young Canarian talents, this edition stands out for the choice of careers related to Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) compared to previous years, and the interest in careers related to Health Sciences and Social Sciences remains.
