In ASTICAN we are proud to have been part of the tuning process of the Barlovento Express, the new addition to the fleet of Fred. Olsen Express fleet. During its stay at our facilities, our team carried out a series of maintenance and adaptation works, ensuring that the vessel was ready to offer an optimal service on its new route between Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura.

The arrival of a new vessel is always an exciting challenge, and the Barlovento Express was no exception. During her stay at ASTICAN, we carried out essential tasks to guarantee her maximum performance and safety in navigation. Among the main tasks carried out, we highlight:
– General maintenance to optimise her operability and adapt her to the demanding standards of Fred. Olsen Express.
– Adaptation to the shipping company’s berths, ensuring their compatibility with the port infrastructure.
– Application of its corporate image, dressing the fast ferry in its characteristic blue and yellow colours, representative of the company and the Canarian spirit.
In addition, during its dry-docking, exhaustive docking and navigation tests were carried out to verify that everything was in perfect condition before it was put into service.
