Astican has been cooperating for years with the pre-university orientation project which aims to bring talent to the Canary Islands labour market. This year the Canarias Masterclass VI Edition took place, an initiative of the Canary Talent.

Partnership which connects young people in their second year of high school with experts in the professional sector in which they are interested to clarify their ideas for their professional future.

Three young people with different professional interests enjoyed the experience of sharing a working day with their Astican mentors: Sara Lijiao Ojeda Vargas in the health sector together with Dr. Araceli Pérez Redondo from our Medical Service. Oliver Sánchez Liebermann with his mentor Aday González, Key Account Manager and Pablo Segura López with his mentor Agustín Tapia, IT Manager.

These three students were chosen from among the 50 selected from a total of 1,719 applicants with the best academic records in the Canary Islands.

Like the rest of the selected students, Sara, Oliver and Pablo had the opportunity to learn at first-hand about the business reality of the field they are enthusiastic about and they took the opportunity to draw on the advice and experiences of their mentors.

At Astican we love this kind of initiative, as we seek to empower young talent by providing them with the necessary tools to achieve a successful career.

The Canary Islands aspire to a solid business fabric, highly competitive and with international projection. To achieve this, our companies need the best professionals.
