ASTICAN has been recognised at the 2026 Canary Islands Excellence in Human Resources Awards in the Wellbeing and Health category, acknowledging a model built on caring for people within a demanding industrial environment.
At ASTICAN, wellbeing is not seen as a one-off initiative, but as a way of working. A commitment shaped over time through practical and meaningful actions that support people’s physical, emotional and social health.
Over the past year, this approach has taken shape through a range of initiatives, including early cancer detection campaigns, actions to identify cardiovascular risk factors, and efforts to promote healthy habits such as proper hydration and sun protection. Physical activity has also been encouraged through initiatives like the step challenge.
Alongside this, mental health and first aid workshops have provided space to care for emotional wellbeing, complemented by numerous small actions aimed at supporting people in their day-to-day work environment.
The positive response to these initiatives and the conversations they inspire reflect how wellbeing is increasingly embedded in ASTICAN’s culture. A journey that continues, with the aim of creating an environment where people can grow, feel well and, why not, feel happy at work.
